Bollywood Actress Alia Bhatt made her debut with Karan Johar’s ‘Student of the Year’ in 2012 and ever since then there was no looking back. The actress is one of the most sought-after stars in Bollywood today. Alia seems to be unstoppable after giving several back to back hits like Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi and Netflix film Darlings in 2022.
Alia is coming with several more big projects like Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra in September 2022 which will be the first film with her better-half RanbirKapoor. The film could be one of the biggest hits of the year as it is intended to serve as the first film in a planned trilogy as part of its own cinematic universe called Astraverse.
Alia had an extraordinary noticeable performance in her latest films Gangubai Kathiawadi and Darlings. In Gangubai Kathiawadi, the actress was found in a never seen before avatar. She had played the role of a mafia queen and owner of a brothel. Whereas, Darlings is a Black comedy-drama film co-produced by Bhatt’s Eternal Sunshine Productions and Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment. In the film, Alia plays the character of Badru Shaikh, who is married to Hamza Shaikh (Vijay Verma), an alcoholic and volatile man. Badru hopes that her husband will someday quit alcohol and mend his ways. But when his behaviour becomes too intolerable, Badru and her mother Shamshunissa(Shefali Shah), seek revenge. It’s a powerful story with a lot of humour and doses of dark comedy.
Though a very brief role but even one of the top filmmakers S S Rajamouli too chose her for RRR.
Keeping Alia’s previous characters in mind, it is crystal-clear that she’ll be playing quite a unique role in her upcoming film ‘Brahmastra’ and again win the hearts of her fans with her significant performance. Alia believes that Brahmastra is not a superhero film; it is a mystical fantasy drama. ‘There is no comparable reference. It’s a new film coming out of our industry. It could be a film that makes our industry proud and elevates us to a global stage,’ she says.
Alia Bhatt is anyways one of top actresses of Bollywood if not the best! She is on golden run and she might be the factor which Bollywood need at the moment to score at box office that too a biggie like Brahmastra to survive at box office.
