Unexpected Boost For Karthikeya 2 in Smaller Centers In Hindi Belt With 80% Occupancy, Laal Singh Chaddha And Raksha Bandhan Lag Behind

Independence Day weekend, Bollywood will see one of the biggest clashes in recent times. AamirKhan Starrer Laal Singh Chaddha and AkshayKumar’s Rakshabandhan released on 11th August, but there has been a boycott trend against both these films, especially for Laal Singh Chaddha.

Aamir Khan’s controversial statements about the country’s intolerance in 2015, his anti-Modistatements in 2006, and his recent visit to Turkey has created a negative wave against Laal Singh Chaddha, and the Hindu communities have called for a boycott of the film.

Akshay Kuamr’s Rakshabandhan is also getting targeted by these agenda-driven groups as the writer of the film, Kanika Dhillon, had made some controversial tweets against Hindu beliefs in the past. The screenshots of those tweets are being made viral.

Akshay Kumar also made some remarks in 2012 in his film ‘OMG’ where he asked people not to waste money on milk and oil in temples and instead feed the poor. These things have not gone well with some communities, and hence the boycott trends are running on social media against the film.

Because of the boycott trends against these films, there was very low or no presence of the audience in the cinemas, due to which Laal Singh Chaddha and Rakshabandhan’s multiplex shows has been reduced upto 1300 and 1000 respectively by the exhibitors voluntarily.

On the other hand, Karthikeya 2, a moderate budgeted film is defeating Bollywood’s two big releases, Laal Singh Chaddha and Rakshabandhan. The Hindi version of the film is being promoted by Hindus in the northern part of the country. They claim that Karthikeya 2 promotes Hinduism and portrays the greatness of Lord Krishna.

People are promoting the film through social media, saying that instead of watching Laal Singh Chaddhaand Rakshabandhan, it is better to watch Karthikeya2, which depicts or culture and religion. In smaller centers in Gujarat and north film is doing better than two Hindi biggies. In a place like Valsad film is 90% full in today’s shows.

Karthikeya 2’s producer Abhishek Agrawal’s last film, The Kashmir Files, created a sensation in Bollywood by becoming the highest-grossing film of 2022, so Bollywood trade is expecting Karthikeya 2 will also make a huge impact at Box Office as it caters to the ongoing Hindutva wave in the country.
