Nikhil Siddhartha starrer Karthikeya 2 has been ascending at the box office amid boycott calls for Bollywood movies. Taapsee Pannu recently released ‘Dobaaraa’ was the latest ‘victim’ of #boycottbollywood campaign. A section of Twitter users also called for boycotting Vijay Deverakonda’s Liger for Karan Johar’s involvement in the film.
A sequel to the critically acclaimed movie ‘Karthikeya’, the second instalment of the movie even beat the likes of Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha and Akshay Kumar’s Raksha Bandhan in terms of collection on Friday.
The film started with 50 screens and 7 lacs collections on Saturday that too with zero PR & marketing. It got 250 screens and 25 lacs the second day. It collected 5.75 cr nett in week one.
Over the 2nd weekend, the film collects a huge 2.46 cr nett on Friday followed by 3.04 cr nett on Saturday. The film further added 4.07 cr nett on Sunday which takes its total of 9.57 cr nett and that is 80% higher than entire 1st week.
Film has 9 day total of 15.32 cr nett and it should easily pass 20 cr nett by end of 2nd week. It should stay in cinemas for a week more at least and cross 23-25 cr nett lifetime.
