It’s getting close to Shah Rukh Khan the superstar’s birthday. However, he is currently working nonstop to finish the last few scenes for his upcoming movies. They are “Dunki,” “Pathaan,” and “Jawan.” On the outskirts of Chennai in September, he shot for Jawan. He then began filming for “Dunki” in the Maharashtra region of Wai on October 9. After that, he had finished the job there in three days. Soon after, he began working on the filming of Atlee’s movie “Jawan.”
The teaser of ‘Pathaan’ has come on the special occasion of his birthday. Although he or the production company have not made an official declaration about this, rumours abound. A fresh development has emerged on his “Dunki” in the interim. That is, the following schedule of the movie hasn’t been filmed in Wai because of the intense rain.
Sources present in Wai, 250 km from Mumbai, said, “The shooting was about to take place again in this area. In the first week of October, Shah Rukh and the rest of the cast shot the train sequence. Now action scenes were to be filmed there. That area has been given the shape of a rural area of Punjab. It was difficult to shoot that sequence in Punjab as Shah Rukh has to complete the shooting of Jawaan on the same dates. His current schedule is already running in Pune, not far from Wai. In such a situation, the makers of ‘Dunki’ chose the location of wai for the sequence in Punjab.”

Prior to all of these sites, European nations served as the film’s foreign settings for filming. For more filming, Saudi Arabia has been chosen by the producers. Talking about this, a source reveals To Bollywood Hungama, “Dunki will be the first Bollywood film to be shot in Saudi Arabia. Shah Rukh Khan, Rajkumar Hirani and other unit members are expected to fly to the Middle-Eastern country around November 15. Shooting will commence 2-3 days later and is expected to be wrapped up by November end. It is expected to take place in and around the city of Jeddah.”
The source further adds, “Saudi Arabia, in the days to come, will emerge as one of the top destinations for filming. The Ministry of Culture of Saudi Arabia has announced that it is giving a cash rebate of upto 40% on production spend in the country and has also assured full support to get licenses and approval as soon as possible to the filmmakers. Besides, the country has beautiful, unexplored locations which are sure to look great on the big screen. All these factors have tempted the film industry to shoot in Saudi Arabia.”
The big-budget movie Dunki won’t be the first to be made in Saudi Arabia. Three Hollywood movies have previously been filmed in this Asian nation. Kandahar, an action movie starring Ali Fazal and directed by Gerard Butler, was filmed in AlUla, a stunning old walled city full of mudstone and stone homes.
