Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s Brahmastra directed by Ayan Mukerji is turning out to be a spectacle that audiences are willing to experience on the big screen. According to sample data that we have received, the IMAX version of Brahmastra is selling tickets faster than hot cupcakes. The film has already sold 65 to 70 percent of the tickets at the IMAX properties in India and it is headed to clock an advance sale of over 80 percent for the opening day alone.
The movie will become the first Hindi film to collect Rs. 1 crore or more from IMAX alone in India and this will be a record of sorts. In fact, there is a heavy chance of Brahmastra collecting Rs. 1 crore NETT from IMAX properties with the advance sales alone. As of Tuesday night, Brahmastra has sold 20,000 tickets in IMAX properties of India, clocking an occupancy of 70 percent. The IMAX version has collected Rs. 82 lakh nett so far, and by end of Thursday, we are anticipating 80 percent of the total tickets of IMAX to be sold out in advance with a nett total of Rs. 1.05 crore.
The movie will surpass the opening day collections of films like Padmavat and Thugs of Hindostan in IMAX with mere advance booking. The good news is, that the bookings are equally strong for Saturday and Sunday as well, and if the report supports the pre-release buzz, Brahmastra will end up recording over 80 percent occupancy at the IMAX properties in India, making it the highest ever for a Bollywood film, competing with KGF 2 and RRR.
There is an outside chance of recording even 90 percent occupancy in the IMAX properties through the weekend, more so after India getting out of the Asia Cup. Brahmastra is seeing a release on all IMAX properties in India with nearly 100 shows per day. The big screen is back like never before for Bollywood.
Also film has passed every Hindi film ever in Telugu,Tamil and Kerala belt as each of city staring on records on day one.
The film is slated to score minimum 23-25 cr nett and it can go further up depending on spot booking and Maharashtra which will be affected due to Ganpati Visarjan.
Still a massive weekend and massive day one one the card, probably the biggest post pandemic film for Bollywood.
