Kuwait Forbids Release Of Ajay Devgn And Siddharth Malhotra Starrer Thank God Over Portrayal of Chitragupt Character


Indra Kumar directed Thank God stars Ajay Devgn, Sidharth Malhotra and Rakul Preet Singh. It is set to be released on October 25 coinciding with Diwali, whereas many had anticipated it to be October 21.

Ajay Devgn plays the deity Chitragupt, while Malhotra as comman man who hangs between life and death. According to Indian Mythology, Chitragupt is a Hindu deity who is the bookkeeper recording the good and evil deeds of human beings. The film showcases Ajay Devgn as the modern day Chitragupt, a social comedy, which puts him in a funny look.

According to reports, Kuwait Censor Board has decided to cease the release of the film, facing a ban, whereas others like Dulquer Salmaan, Sunny Deol, and Shreya Dhanwanthary starrer Chup, have been shown green signal. It also approved the Tamil film Sinam with no cuts.

Another trouble for it has been a UP based lawyer who filed a complaint against makers for hurting religious sentiments. Meanwhile, the film features Nora Fatehi in a guest appearance for a song which is reportedly the official Hindi remake of Sri Lankan Song titled Manike Mage Hithe.
