The latest bollywood news is that she is set to star in a biopic of ‘Noti Binodini’ and will play a Bengali theatre artist. It is directed by Pradeep Sarkar, whose biopic based on Chetan Anand and Priya Rajvansh was shelved recently. Born Binodini Dasi in a family of sex workers, she began doing theatre at the age of 12 and is popularly known as one of the first stars of Bengali theatre. She was called ‘Noti Binodini’. Irrespective of having a short career span of mere 11 years, she is praised to have set a great example for women in theatre and even setting-up modern makeup techniques.
“I am a very big fan of Pradeep Sarkaar ji and very happy for this opportunity. Also this will be my first collaboration with Prakash Kapadia ji and I am completely thrilled to be part of this remarkable journey with some of the greatest artist of this country,” said Kangana as per her official statement to media.
Meanwhile, Kanagan will soon complete shooting for “Emergency” and then start the biopic. She had played the role of Rani Lakshmi Bai of Jhansi in Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi and as J. Jayalalithaa in Thalaivii. The actress has the military drama Tejas and the mythological film Sita The Incarnation as next.
