Has Shraddha Kapoor’s VFX-Heavy ‘Naagin’ Trilogy been put on hold?

Vishal Furia directed Naagin trilogy stars Shraddha Kapoor as a naagin, a shape-shifting snake, which is produced by Nikhil Dwivedi.

Shraddha, who was featured in Forbes India’s Celebrity 100 list in 2014 and was showcased by Forbes Asia in their 30 Under 30 list of 2016, is well-known for Ek Villain, Baaghi 3, ABCD 2, Stree, Ek Villain Returns and others.

Considering the box-office lows, reports suggest that it’s been put on hold for a particular period. It reportedly has heavy VFX and was supposed to be released this Summer. The announcement related to Kapoor’s role was made in 2020. The delay behind it is because of budget as per source.

“Naagin is a VFX-heavy film that was to be made on a massive budget. Given the current dry spell in the market, the makers want to hold the project, and revisit it later. The film was to go on floors in May, but the stakeholders felt it was best to wait it out. If at all, the film will be pursued after Shraddha’s yet-untitled next with Ranbir Kapoor is released,” Mid Day quoted a source as saying.

The source added, “The film was to go on floors in May, but the stakeholders felt it was best to wait it out. If at all, the film will be pursued after Shraddha’s yet-untitled next with Ranbir Kapoor is released.”
