Yesterday Diwali releases set to lock horns at box office as Akshay Kumar starrer Ram Setu and Ajay Devgn – Sidharth Malhotra starrer Thank God released with below par responses in advance bookings. But as expected films jumped in spot bookings and managed very good day one.
Akshay Kumar starrer Ram Setu released in 3100 screens all over India and marketing was low with low pre release buzz. But as predicted by us, film scored big in spot bookings and now because of that film had good day one. Film collected 15.25 cr nett on day one which was 2nd best opening for Hindi films, only 2nd to Brahmastra.
Today again film managed to stay strong especially in Gujarat and central region. As per early trends, film should collect 12.25 – 13 cr nett day two and this number can go higher depending on night shows.

Film has received mixed reviews but still film has done well with no big drop and next three days are crucial for respectable lifetime total.
Ram Setu is helmed by Abhishek Sharma who has previously directed films such as Tere Bin Laden, Tere Bin Laden: Dead or Alive, and Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran among others. Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi, who directed Akshay in the historical drama Samrat Prithviraj earlier this year, has served as the creative producer on the film.
