Dwayne Johnson has donned the superhero suit for DC Extended Universe. While The Rock is a popular name and has a sizeable fan base, early predictions state that DCEU’s new film won’t be able to match the box office collections of Marvel’s superhero films. Also, because it’s a pre-Diwali release, the footfall at cinema halls decreases which will impact the collections.
Black Adam was released on Thursday in India during the pre-Diwali phase; hence, film collected 6.50 cr nett on day one and it can be considered a decent performance.
Black Adam is a spinoff from Shazam! and while the anti-hero title character and the accompanying Justice Society of America members are no household names, the film’s star certainly is. This has been a passion project for Dwayne Johnson, who plays Black Adam and also produces, and he has been involved with the project for longer than the DCEU has even been in existence. Johnson reteams with Jungle Cruise director Jaume Collet-Serra for the comic book film.
Film is set for massive opening worldwide and box office will be revived by this. In india it should cross 30-35 cr nett weekend over 4- days.
