Dulquer Salmaan and Hanu Raghavapudi’s periodic romantic saga, Sita Ramam came with the least expectations and surprised the makers and public with its massive success. The movie stars Mrunal Thakur and Rashmika Mandanna as the female leads.
Film has collected Rs 85.80 cr at the worldwide box office. Per the reports, it earned Rs 38.63 crore in Tamil, Rs 11.1 crore in Telugu, Rs 5.07 crore in Malayalam and Rs 4.08 crore in Hindi. With these collections, the film has already recovered its cost. At the same time, trade analysts believe that the film will soon cross the Rs 100 crore mark at the worldwide box office.

The movie has a cast that includes Sumanth, Tharun Bhascker, Vennela Kishore, Sachin Khedekar, Jisshu Sengupta, Bhumika, Murali Sharma, Prakash Raj, Tinu Anand, Shatru, Rohini, Sunil, Rukmini Vijayakumar, Abhinaya, Rahul Ravindran, Ananth, and Gautham Vasudev Menon among others in key roles.
Sita Ramam is the joint production venture of Swapna Cinema and Vyjayanthi Movies. The movie was recently released in Hindi and will be available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video from September 9.
Talking about the story, Sita Ramam is the love story of an orphan who grows up to become a Lieutenant in the Indian Army and that of Sita AKA princess Noorjahan. They both fall in love through exchanging letters and Noorjahan assumes that Ram doesn’t know her true identity. However, before they could finally break the bonds and live together, Ram is kidnapped by Pakistani military personnel. He writes a final letter to Sita before his execution and Rashmika Mandanna is entrusted with the responsibility of taking the letter to Sita after several years.
