Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor’s Laal Singh Chaddha performance has been abysmal throughout its run at the box office. On the opening day, Laal Singh Chaddha earned Rs 10 crore. Despite being released on a long weekend, the film’s performance has been below expectations, which is unexpected. The film, which was released alongside Akshay Kumar’s Raksha Bandhan, has collected Rs 1.5 crore on Saturday, August 20, according to early estimates.

Aamir Khan’s film faced a major boycott from netizens, which may have been a reason for the film’s bad performance at the box office. The film collected Rs 1.5 crore on Saturday. The total collection in India now stands at Rs 54 crore. Worldwide the film has crossed the Rs 100 crore mark.

With the release of Liger on Augsut 25, Laal Singh Chaddha may be removed from many cinema halls.

Directed by Advait Chandan, Laal Singh Chaddha is the official remake of the Hollywood film, Forrest Gump, which featured Tom Hanks. The Hindi adaptation features Kareena Kapoor Khan, Naga Chaitanya and Mona Singh in crucial roles. Even before its release, Laal Singh Chaddha made headlines due to multiple controversies. Netizens called for a boycott of the film over statements made by Aamir and Kareena in the past. The two stars requested fans not to boycott Laal Singh Chaddha and asked them to watch the film in theatres.
