Godfather starring Chiranjeevi in the lead role releases this Wednesday. It’s a mid-week release and is arriving on the auspicious occasion of Dussehra. The film also stars Salman Khan in a cameo and it has got fans excited as it’s nothing less than a treat.
Helmed by Mohan Raja, the film is an official Telugu remake of the Malayalam political thriller, Lucifer. Starring Mohanlal, Vivek Oberoi and others, the original version was a huge hit both at the box office and with critics. With a tried and tested script (and of course some ‘mass’ changes), the megastar is all set to entertain his audience.
Film is in controversy in Bollywood for its distribution deal as leading distributors and brokers are fighting over rights given at last minute to Panorama Studios. Film is looking forward to take advantage of Dussera holidays.
Film should release in 1000 plus screens and it should open around 3.75-4.50 cr nett on opening day. Vikram Vedha is still in first week so Godfather will fight that for numbers.
Film should take advantage of holidays and should collect 17-20 cr nett in three days considering stardom of Salman Khan.
Film will have good run for 10 days or so if reviews are decent enough and masses get warm upto it.
Opening Day:
4 cr nett
Opening Weekend: (3 days)
18 cr nett
Earlier, at a pre-release event of the film, Chiranjeevi had promised the audience some fireworks with Salman and him sharing the screen. “Salman Khan has taken the responsibility on my behalf to entertain you towards the climax. It has come out brilliantly,” he said.
