Yesterday Diwali releases set to lock horns at box office as Akshay Kumar starrer Ram Setu and Ajay Devgn – Sidharth Malhotra starrer Thank God released with below par responses in advance bookings. But as expected film jumped yesterday in spot bookings and managed very good day one.
Ajay Devgn Starrer Thank God released in 2200 screens and as expected grew in spot bookings today in mass centres. Film was affected by poor marketing and low buzz but film was helped by hit songs and good release date. Film collected 8.10 cr nett on day one which was strictly average but not bad considering clash.
Today again film held well and mass centres performed well. As per early trends, film should collect 8-8.50 cr nett on day two and it is fair result considering clash. Film has decent word of mouth so it should not witness big drop from Thursday onwards but what it needs is some sort of jump or steady biz for 5-6 days.
