Raaj Shaandilyaa directed Dream Girl stars Ayushmann Khuranna, Nushratt Bharuccha, Abhishek Banerjee, Annu Kapoor, Manjot Singh, Raj Bhansali and others. The rom-com was released in 2019 comprising 2 hour 17 minutes. It crossed 200 cr worldwide.
In a major announcement in a fascinating way, Ayushmann took to his social media handles and shared about Dream Girl 2 releasing on June 29, 2023. He posted a 1 minute 52 second teaser showcasing him in Mathura. It stars Ananya Pandey, Paresh Rawal, Vijay Razz, Seema Pahwa, Manoj Joshi, Rajpal Yadav, Manjot Singh, Abhishek Banerjee and others.
In the video, When one among the trio states, “Bollywood Ko Nazar Lag Gayi Hai”. To which he replies, “Haan Bhai, DVD pe Chala rahu fir picturein na chal rahi. Isliye Mathura aaya hoon Pooja Karne.” The next dialogue comes as “Bollywood Ko Pooja ki jarurat hai”.
Ayushmann is seen calling Pooja with popular song on call *Mere dil ka telephone”. In the female voice, Pooja replies, “Iss baar Eid pe Pooja Hogi”. Amazingly, the makers have used the phrase “Boycott Bollywood” in the best possible productive way. The teaser ends with him smiling with Ananya Pandey and Radhe Radhe song.
