Avatar was first released in 2009 directed by James Caneron. The sci-fi/action movie stars Sam Worthinhton (Jake Sully), Zoe Saldana (Neytiri) and others. For a corporate mission, Jake, who is paraplegic, replaces his twin on the Na’vi inhabited Pandora. It performed well at box office records worldwide, amounting to 87.8 crores USD, while the budget of it was 3.7 crores USD.

According to reports, In India, it sold tickets worth ₹1 crore in advance bookings alone, sold 77,559 tickets in advance sales, with a grossing figure of ₹1.04 crore. The first part had a lifetime collection worth $2.8 billion. Its re-release with a remastered cut has added $35 million to its worldwide collection.
According to TrackTollywood.com, its makers are demanding Rs 100 crore from distributors for theatrical rights in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, leading distributors into perplexion. The last month was undoubtedly great for re-release prequel. Meanwhile, ‘Avatar: The Way Of Water’ will be released in India on 16th December 2022.
