Amid Laal Singh Chaddha’s flop domestic release, Writer cum Actor Atul Kulkarni says, “When destruction is celebrated….”


Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor starrer Lal Singh Chaddha released on August 11, 2022. Many had speculated it to be super kicking with many hitting theatres to watch it in India. However, it turned out to be a failure. It has been made on an estimated budget worth Rs 180 cr.

According to reports, it would receive Rs 60 cr as total collection. Helmed by Advait Chandan, the film is written by Atul Kulkarni with an adaptation from a 1994 made Hollywood film named Forrest Gump into the context based in India.

On August 28, Atul Kulkarni, who also performed in Aamir Khan starrer Rang De Basanti, tweeted, “When destruction is celebrated as if it were a spectacle, the harsh truths are reduced to debris.” His tweet came just after the demolition of twin towers in Noida which many applauded. On the other hand, Netizens also quickly pointed out that the tweet could be about Lal Singh Chaddha wherein its flop release has been celebrated amid its boycott calls.

Meanwhile, The film comprises a debutant Telugu actor Naga Chaitanya, son of superstar Nagarjuna, who has played an army officer named Balaraju Bodi. It also includes Mona Singh and Manav Vij in leading roles.

The film has received mixed response after its release. Its soundtrack has been praised by viewers, with lovely songs like Phir Na Aisi Raat Aayegi, Kahani, Tur Kalleyan.
